Budget Backpack Travel in Europe

Doing what I love,
And telling people about it…

Allen Routledge outside on a sunny day.

Allen Routledge

Hello and welcome to OmniTraveller.com. I am Allen Routledge and I admit I have always loved to travel. Since my mid-teens, I have been a backpack traveller whenever I had the chance. It started rather unexpectedly one day when my parents informed me that against their ‘better judgement’ (and to my astonishment) they agreed to allow me to go with my mate (Note to Americans: that’s informal English for male ‘friend’) on a backpack camping adventure on the Continent. We wandered for one month in France, Germany, and Holland.

I was just barely 16 years old, self-confident, proud, and itching for a daring quest. Okay, so some might call me a romantic. That be as it may, on that hallowed mission I had the time of my life. I learnt things about myself and of life that aroused and amazed me. On that marvellous trip I learnt so much, including some vital people skills. It forced me out of the comfy cocoon of my Midlands English home and during one summer month, it transformed me into a very different, more worldly bloke with a keen interest in people, and a thrust for knowledge.

So, now, years later, Omni Traveller came about from my desire to provide an editorial travel site that provides factual, relevant, and interesting articles as well as pertinent advice about Europeans and European travel, specifically for students and assorted backpackers of all ages. I want to help you better understand Europe, how to save money during your trip, and how to better spend your time while you are here (or there) in Europe. I want to enable you to emerge from your own personal European adventure with a deep appreciation of Europe and her peoples. Oh yeah, and have a lot of fun as well. After all, how can one not enjoy Europe?

Please note while I do my best to verify and keep with information, facts, statistics, and other representations on this site up-to-date, things can get skewed with time. As the Buddhist say: the only thing that doesn’t change is change. So, please verify details before acting.

I hope you enjoy this site. If you have comments or glorious words of praise concerning Omni Traveller, then hit us up at allen @ omnitraveller(dot)com.
